Greenlife Dental Clinic (GDC) had its humble beginnings back in 1996 as a small dental clinic (#01-02) within a medical clinic in Yew Tee MRT Station. We made history at that time being the first dental clinic in Singapore to be located inside in an MRT Station.
In 2000, we opened our second military resume service branch in Keypoint along Jalan Sultan. This practice catered to the office crowd who worked in the city.
After the SARS episode in 2003, we realized that having a dental clinic within a medical clinic may present some degree of risk to our patients should there be another pandemic.
In 2005, SMRT built some new shops at Yew Tee MRT Station. We took this opportunity to bid for our very own shop with a larger floor space. That year, we moved to our independent unit in Yew Tee MRT Station (#01-06). We were one of the first few general dental clinics in a HDB practice to embrace advanced technology in diagnostics – such as full facial X-rays and intra-oral cameras. There, we continued our single-minded mission of providing quality dental care to our patients.
In 2008, we moved our Keypoint branch to Blk 14 Beach Road #01-4661 in search for a larger space without moving too far away from our previous location (less than 100m away). Here, we continue to serve our loyal patients as well as new ones we have come to acquire.
In May 2009, we moved to Yew Tee Square, an iconic circular building in Yew Tee located right in front of Yew Tee MRT Station (about 50m from our previous location inside the station). With almost 1,000 square feet of space, we are able to house our latest advanced equipment and provide more rooms for the comfort of our patients.
Although we have the expertise and muscle to open a chain of many clinics, we decided that we will not expand just for the sake of it. To us, our priority lies in doing everything possible to provide the best personalized dental care to our patients in the two clinics. Though it only makes business sense to expand, opening too many clinics too fast will only serve to dilute our efforts to continuously improve ourselves to serve our patients.
Dr Au Eong has more than 20 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1992, he opened his first private practice in 1996 at Yew Tee MRT Station. He is a general dental practioner with a strong interest in the field of oral surgery, orthodontics (straightening of teeth) and dental implantology. Dr Au Eong believes passionately in contributing to the less fortunate locally and globally especially those in countries without proper dental care. He takes time away from his dental business to go for charity dental missions overseas at least twice or more each year since 1997.
This passion of his had brought him to neighbouring countries like Indonesia (Batam, Bintan, many of the Riau islands and Sulawesi) ,northen province of Thailand (Mae Hong Song), Cambodia,Vietnam and to far away lands in the catcher in the rye symbolism northern border of India (Lakhar), Nepal and exotic nations like Madagascar and Zambia. Dr Au Eong also volunteered his time for dental missions with the Singapore Armed Forces with neighbouring countries. His skills are taken to the ultimate test with unique patients like the pink dolphin of Sentosa (extractions due to fracture of teeth) and the tiger at the Singapore Zoo (root canal treatment).
Dr Au Eong’s main focus is to build a team of dentists that can provide good dentistry and treat the patients’ dental concerns like their own. His stringent selection of dental surgeons has paid off in a very big way – patients have come to trust the GDC brand of dentistry as they get the peace of mind that no matter which dental surgeon takes care of their oral health, they are assured of the best quality of care and value for their money.
