By making Greenlife the dental service provider for you and your loved ones, you may be pleased to know that part of the proceeds go towards helping the less fortunate in different parts of the world.

Every year, we set aside a portion of our profit to fund our missions in providing free dental care in impoverished countries.

Think globally, Act locally.

At Greenlife, we believe that charity begins at home. We are a partner of the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS), helping to provide subsidised dental healthcare to the lower income groups in Singapore. CHAS is available to Singaporeans aged 40 years and above with household income below $1500. All you have to do is to register at the nearest community centre in order to qualify for this scheme. Simply bring your CHAS card to our clinic and you shall be entitled to subsidised rates.

Ever since we embarked on this scheme in 1999, we have helped thousands of Singaporeans from lower income families to get access to dental healthcare at subsidised rates.

We believe that basic dental healthcare should be accessible to all, regardless of financial situation.

Touching hearts, Spreading smiles

When you do your dental treatments at Greenlife, you can be proud to tell your friends that your dental health partner is doing its part for the community at large. What you spend here goes towards serving the under-privileged — locally and around the world.

So, besides doing what we are good at (i.e. improving the way you smile), we give you an extra reason to smile.

Volunteering is what fuels us

Being blessed with the skills of a dental healthcare worker, dentists at Greenlife believe that we should do more to make this world a better place. Our dentists are actively involved in providing free dental service in the less developed parts of the world where dental services are not readily available.

It all started in 1997

Dr Au Eong is one of the founding members of a team who frequently travel overseas to provide free dental and medical care. Comprising of passionate dental and medical healthcare practitioners with hearts of gold, it is a non-profit, non-religious group who call themselves “The Global Clinic”. All the volunteers take time off from work and their families at least once or twice a year to provide free service in different parts of the world. All expenses for the trips are self-paid.

The dentists in Greenlife who have volunteered overseas include:

Dr Judy – Myanmar

Dr Seah – India

Dr Dennis Soh – Indonesia (Bintan)

Dr Rashmi – Madagascar

Dr Colin Chin – Cambodia, Nepal

Dr Bey – Nepal

Dr Lee – Cambodia

To find out more about the volunteer missions and activities, or to find out how you can also do more to help (besides patronizing Greenlife), do visit www.global-clinic.org for more information.

During each trip, the mobile volunteers perform various types of treatments such as fillings, extractions and scaling on hundreds of patients over three to five days. The team has become experts in setting up makeshift clinics at spartan spaces such as abandoned schools, dilapidated buildings and even outdoor spaces under shady trees. Whatever the condition, the team always observe basic hygiene and sanitizing procedures.

Countries which have benefited from Dr Au Eong’s and Greenlife dental team’s volunteerism include Indonesia (Batam, Bintan, Bali, Sulawesi and many of the Riau islands), northern province of Thailand (Mae Hong Song), Cambodia, Vietnam (Danang), China (remote mountains of Szechuan) and northern border of India (Ladakh), different parts of Nepal, Madagascar and the wild bushland of Zambia.

CSR_army volunteerAs an Army Major in the Combat Surgical Hospital, Dr Au Eong also volunteered his time for many dental missions with the Singapore Armed Forces, Air Force and Navy to neighbouring countries, like Indonesia and Thailand, to serve the less fortunate. Dr Au Eong has completed his duty as a National service man in 2012 and has volunteered to extend his duty for another 3 extra years. He is prepared to serve the country as long as he is able to contribute positively to the Singapore Armed Forces.

Here’s a video of one of the mission trips so you get an idea of what we do during one of these trips.
