Dentistry beyond the clinics

Dr Low strongly believes in giving back to the community to those in need. She has travelled to Cambodia for mission work. Locally, she also volunteered at public health screenings and rendered treatment to the elderly at Hospices, special needs at Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) and migrant workers at Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME). Dr Low feels that it’s a blessing to be equipped with the clinical skills and knowledge to help the underprivileged.

Getting to know our Dentist

Life after graduation
I enjoy travelling a lot. After becoming a mother, I strongly value family time and catching up with friends. I try my best to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle by going for a run or do HIIT workout once a week.

“To me, it is truly a blessing to have forged good patient-dentist friendships over the years.”

Why did you choose to be a dentist?
It may seem surprising, but I have to confess that I was once a fearful patient on the dental chair! I suffered from jaw joint pain (TMD) in my younger days and was reassured by the friendly dentist who treated me at that time. It inspired me to become someone like him.

What is one advice you want to give to patients?
Consistency is key. A good oral hygiene regime and routine dental check-ups make dental visits more pleasant and affordable.

What are your Hobbies?
I love singing. You might hear me secretly humming a tune during treatment!

“Consistency is key. A good oral hygiene regime and routine dental check-ups make dental visits more pleasant and affordable.”

What are the things that keep you motivated in dentistry?
My patients frequently share little snippets of their milestones and daily life with me during their routine check-ups. And, I am genuinely happy to hear them. To me, it is truly a blessing to have forged good patient-dentist friendships over the years.
