Getting to know our Dentist
Why did you choose to be a dentist?
I chose dentistry because firstly I was interested in working in the healthcare sector, knowing that it has a direct impact in helping people.
Dentistry seemed to be an interesting choice since the work is very hands-on and requires a sense of aesthetics, artistry and precision that appeals to me.
What are the things that keep you motivated in dentistry
Being able to help patients resolve their dental concerns or pain. Especially for those patients who were initially very fearful and dento-phobic, there is a great sense of achievement when you see their relief and gratitude post-treatment, and a decrease of fear in dental appointments thereafter.
“I get a lot of satisfaction from performing surgeries to help patients remove their wisdom teeth or non-restorable teeth, with as little pain as possible, in the most efficient manner.”
What are your favourite dental treatments, and why?
I get a lot of satisfaction from performing surgeries to help patients remove their wisdom teeth or non-restorable teeth, with as little pain as possible, in the most efficient manner.
Relate at least TWO most interesting / challenging experiences so far in your dentistry career I had a patient who was initially very fearful of seeing the dentist, but eventually came and saw me for wisdom tooth pain. We managed to remove her wisdom tooth successfully and to her surprise, almost painlessly. She came back to remove her other wisdom teeth very shortly after, and even referred many of her family members and friends to see me.
