FAQs

What are the treatments that can be paid using my Medisave?

Only surgical procedures such as minor oral surgery, wisdom tooth surgery and implant surgery can be paid using your Medisave. For minor oral surgery and wisdom tooth surgery, the treatments are fully payable by Medisave. For implant surgery, the maximum deduction from your Medisave account is $1250 for the first implant and any additional implant is $950 each. Bone grafting procedure is a Medisave claimable surgical procedure if it is done without the placement of the implant on the same day.

Can I use Medisave to pay for braces/dentures/crown/root canal treatments?

No. Medisave can only be used to pay for surgical procedures such as minor oral surgery, wisdom tooth surgery and implant surgery.

Can I use Medisave to pay for common dental treatment like scaling, filling and extraction?

No. Medisave cannot be use for common dental treatment. However if the extraction of a tooth becomes complicated as due to certain clinical situation like example the tooth broke during extraction, thus making normal extraction impossible. This may need a minor surgery to remove the broken tooth, which is then Medisave claimable because removal of tooth with surgery (involving cutting of bone and the broken tooth fragment) fall under the approved dental treatment.
